General
Ezio Auditore is a major character in the Assassin's Creed series, debuting in the series' second installment. He is an ancestor to the series' main character Desmond Miles. Hailing from the Italian city of Florence (Firenze in Italian), he was a member of the Assassin Order during the Renaissance era. Born a nobleman, Ezio was unaware of his assassin heritage until his adolescence, following the trial and execution of his father and brothers. He possesses a versatile array of skills and weapons, including incredible free-running and athletic ability and "Eagle Vision", a hereditary ability sensing how people and objects relate to the user. During Ezio's journeys, he has worked alongside many famous historical figures such as Leonardo da Vinci and Niccolo Macchiaveli. Ezio has received immense critical acclaim (sometimes considered one of the greatest video game characters of all time), and he is arguably the most popular character in the Assassin's Creed series.
